Espira-de-l'Agly

The village and the station

Accessibility to the station

Espira-de-l'Agly is located in the Roussillon plain, about 10 kilometers north of Perpignan, the main city in the region. The town is bordered by the Agly river, from which it takes part of its name.

Espira-de-l'Agly is part of a renowned wine-growing region. The vineyards surrounding the commune produce quality wines, notably AOC Côtes du Roussillon wines and natural sweet wines. Viticulture plays an important role in the local economy.

It has some interesting heritage sites. Among them, we can cite the Sainte-Marie church, a church dating from the 18th century, as well as the castle of Espira-de-l'Agly, a medieval building transformed into a Renaissance-style residence.

 

Access: Espira-de-l'Agly is accessible by road, notably via the A9 motorway which crosses the region. The town is also served by local bus lines.

The station platform has been adapted for people with mobility difficulties and people with disabilities.​

Restauration

Le Stand-Up: Restaurant Bar located 50 m from the train station in Espira-de-l'Agly, open from Sunday to Friday, lunchtime (7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) - Traditional cuisine. Establishment accessible to people with reduced mobility. Animals are not allowed in the restaurant room, 06 15 94 54 75.​
